FIA Salary 2026 – Pay Scale by Post BS-04 to BS-15 (Official)

REVISED PAY SCALES 2026

FIA salaries follow the Government of Pakistan Basic Pay Scales. Under the Revised Basic Pay Scales 2026, an FIA Constable in BS-05 starts at a basic pay of Rs 18,300 per month. An ASI in BS-09 starts at Rs 20,990, a Sub-Inspector in BS-14 at Rs 27,060, and an Assistant in BS-15 at Rs 28,730. Allowances are paid on top of basic pay.

Where these figures come from. Every number on this page is taken from the Revised Basic Pay Scales 2026, notified by the Ministry of Finance on 21 July 2026 and effective from 1 July 2026. We cross checked the chart against two independent sources before publishing.

Before you apply to the FIA, you want to know what the job actually pays. Most websites give you one made up number with no source. This page does the opposite. It shows the official pay scale for every FIA post, explains what gets added on top of basic pay, and tells you honestly which parts nobody can promise you.

How government salary actually works in Pakistan

This is the part that confuses most candidates, so understand it first. Your monthly salary is not one figure. It is built from parts.

  • Basic pay. The number set by your Basic Pay Scale, or BPS. This is the figure in the tables below.
  • Annual increment. A fixed amount added to your basic pay every year you serve, until you reach the maximum of your scale.
  • Allowances. House rent, medical, conveyance and others. These are paid on top and they often add up to more than the basic pay itself.
  • Deductions. Pension or GP Fund contributions and tax come off the total.

So when someone asks what an FIA Constable earns per month, the honest answer is that basic pay is fixed and published, while the final take home figure depends on allowances that vary by posting and personal circumstances.

These are basic pay figures only. Your gross salary will be higher once allowances are added. The posts listed here are the ones advertised in the FIA recruitment. You can see the full post list on our FIA jobs advertisement page.

The scale shown against each post is the one given in the official FIA advertisement published on fia.gov.pk. If your appointment letter shows a different scale for your post, follow your letter.

What changed in the Revised Basic Pay Scales 2026

The 2026 revision was not a small yearly bump. Two older allowances were folded permanently into basic pay.

  • The Ad hoc Relief Allowance 2022, worth 15 percent, was merged into basic pay.
  • The Ad hoc Relief Allowance 2025, worth 10 percent, was also merged into basic pay.
  • A fresh 7 percent Ad hoc Relief Allowance 2026 was then notified on top of the new basic pay.

This matters more than it sounds. Because those allowances are now part of basic pay, they also count towards your pension and your annual increments. That makes the 2026 revision more valuable in the long run than a simple allowance increase would have been.

Allowances paid on top of basic pay

Two allowance figures were revised in 2026 and these apply to the scales most FIA recruits join at.

Scale rangePreviousRevised 2026
BPS-05 to BPS-10Rs 1,932Rs 2,898
BPS-11 to BPS-15Rs 2,856Rs 4,284

Beyond these, federal employees normally receive house rent allowance, medical allowance and conveyance allowance. The exact amounts depend on your scale, your city and whether you are given official accommodation. We are not printing a single gross figure for each post, because that number genuinely differs from person to person and any site quoting one exact take home salary for everyone is guessing.

How your salary grows over your career

The annual increment is the part candidates ignore, and it is where the real money is. Take an FIA Constable in BS-05. Basic pay starts at Rs 18,300 and rises by Rs 910 every year. After ten years of service the basic pay alone would be around Rs 27,400, before any promotion and before allowances.

Now look at the top of each scale in the table above. A BS-05 scale runs up to Rs 45,600 and a BS-14 scale runs up to Rs 89,760. That is the ceiling you can reach within a single grade through service alone. Promotion to a higher grade lifts you onto a completely new scale.

Other benefits of an FIA job

Government service in Pakistan carries benefits that private jobs usually do not match. These are standard for federal employees.

  • Pension after qualifying service, or GP Fund benefits
  • Medical cover for the employee and dependants
  • Job security that private employment rarely offers
  • Annual and casual leave entitlement
  • A defined promotion path through the grades

Be careful with salary figures you see online

Many pages promise an exact monthly salary such as one fixed figure for every FIA Constable. Ask yourself where that number came from. Basic pay is published by the Finance Division and can be checked. Gross take home pay cannot be stated as one number for everyone, because allowances differ. If a page gives you a precise salary with no source and no mention of allowances, treat it as a guess.

How we checked this

The pay figures on this page come from the Revised Basic Pay Scales 2026 issued by the Finance Division, Government of Pakistan, notified on 21 July 2026 with effect from 1 July 2026. We compared the chart across two independent published sources and used only the figures that matched. Where a number cannot be verified, such as an exact gross monthly salary, we say so instead of inventing one.

Please note. npftaslogin.com.pk is an independent information portal. We are not the FIA or the Finance Division. Pay scales can be revised by the government at any time. For your own case, the figures on your appointment letter and your pay slip are final.
